How does Z-Carbon affect a table tennis blade?
Z-carbon fabric is a high-performance synthetic fiber used in various fields such as motorsports. The special feature of the fiber is the extremely high stability in combination with the low weight.
In terms of the table tennis bat, this means that you can give the wood enormous stability or hardness without increasing the weight particularly. The harder a table tennis blade is, the faster the ball bounces off the blade and accordingly takes a lot of speed with it.
The special 3D handle:
The combination of G4 and G3 results in a wonderfully rounded grip that adapts perfectly to the hand. Thanks to the flattened shape towards the end of the handle, the blade can be easily turned from forehand to backhand.
The 3D handle tapers gently to the front right, so that the index finger does not have to rest on an uncomfortable edge. At the lower end, the handle is flattened at an angle towards the other side – the so-called bale grind – so that the handle fits the hand perfectly and is easy to turn.
The ROOTS 9 has a normal handle length of 100mm – if you prefer a longer handle, you can choose the long 103mm version in the configurator or put together your own handle combination.”
The veneer structure
The use of HiTec fibers alone does not make a good table tennis blade, just as important is the clever combination of suitable wood types and veneer thicknesses.
In the ROOTS 9, the Z-Carbon fabric lies on the outside directly under the relatively thick top layer of spruce.
External fibers reinforce the hard feel and provide even more speed.
To ensure that the wood does not lose too much of its feel despite its hardness, we also use a thick outer layer of relatively soft spruce here.
If this combination is too fast and hard for you, you should take a look at ROOTS 8 Z-CARBON: in this wood, the synthetic fibers lie directly on the core veneer and are covered by the intermediate layer and the outer veneer. This‘softens‘ this racket a little and gives it a softer feel.

Die Geschwindigkeit des Holzes ist beeindruckend und verleiht den Schlägen wirklich Power, während die Carbonverstärkung für optimale Kontrolle sorgt. Egal ob Top-Spins oder präzise Blocks, das Z-Carbon Speed bietet in jeder Spielsituation ein optimales Gefühl.
Besonders hervorheben möchte ich auch die tolle Beratung von Lukas. Er hat sich viel Zeit genommen, um meine Bedürfnisse und meinen Spielstil zu verstehen und hat mir den Soulspin Z-Carbon Speed empfohlen, der perfekt zu mir passt.
Alles in allem kann ich das Soulspin Z-Carbon Speed und den fantastischen Service bei Soulspin empfehlen. Auch die Auswahl an Griffschalen ist überwältigend, so dass für jede Hand der perfekte Griff zusammengestellt werden kann. Passende Beläge gab es natürlich gleich mit dazu.
Als kleines Gimmick gibt es noch einen Mini-Mini-Schläger dazu. Leider kann ich das nicht beurteilen, denn mein Sohn hat sich das Ding direkt geschnappt 😉 – Naja, mit Soulspin kommt wohl jeder auf seine Kosten.
Biuidog –
Unlike the common Koto wood-based ZLC blades on the market, the spruce face has a certain thickness that allows it to hit with enough speed and still keep the ball in play, which makes the Roots9 able to pull off good quality curves even with little power. But this is not the most amazing thing about the Roots9. Generally speaking, rackets with outer ZLC don’t have a very strong base, which can make the user lose the speed advantage after retreating from the table, and then enter a passive situation. This is one of the reasons why many professional athletes, especially those who use outer racquets, mostly use ALC bases when their physical conditioning allows it. The Z Carbon Speed is an exception to this rule: the upper limit of this racket is significantly higher than that of most other ZLC rackets, and it has a spitball feel that is similar to that of some inner rackets, so you don’t have to worry about the quality of your shots going down, even if you get knocked off the table. The disadvantages are not absent either, as good power and speed come at a price, and the spurt of this board at low power levels means that the player needs to be able to control the ball well enough to use it. Therefore, this blade is not suitable for quick control and counter-control, and is more suitable for those who use twisting, pulling, picking and other techniques to cross the stage of small balls in the table for holding play. Last but not least, this blade can be used with Rage, as long as the rubber is not too bouncy, so if you can get it, try it out, it’s a very unique blade.
Biuidog –
不同于市面上常见的Koto木面材的ZLC底板，具有一定厚度的云杉面材可以在打出足够速度的情况还能保证吃球感，这使得Roots9在小力量下也可以拉出质量不错的弧圈球。但这不是Roots9最惊艳的地方，一般来说，外置ZLC的球拍的底劲都不会很强，会让使用者退台后失去速度上的优势，进而进入被动的局面。这也是很多专业运动员，尤其是使用外置球拍的运动员，在身体素质允许的情况下，大多使用ALC底板的原因之一。不过Z Carbon Speed是个例外：这支板子的上限明显高于多数外置ZLC的板子，发力打透后会有类似一些内置板才有的喷弹感，因此即使被打退台了也不需要担心击球质量下降。
缺点也不是没有，底劲和速度都很好必然要付出相应的代价，这支板子在小力量下的喷弹注定了使用者需要有足够的控球能力才能使用它。
因此，这支板子并不适合去台内快速的控制和反控制，更适合使用拧拉、挑打等技术跨过台内小球阶段进行相持打法的朋友。
最后，这个板子是可以配狂飙的，只要不是太弹的套胶它都能配，如果能买得到的务必试试，很有个性的一支板子。

Hallo zusammen! Ich habe das Soulspin-Holz Z Carbon Speed schon länger, heute wird es jetzt einmal endlich Zeit für eine Bewertung!!! Ich habe das Holz noch 2-mal nachbestellt, Die Griffschalen und das Schlägerblatt habe ich mir vorher per Musterkoffer ausgesucht, kann ich jedem nur empfehlen!!!
Ich spiele jetzt seit 3 Monaten eine feste Langnoppe mit dünnem Schwamm (0,5 mm.) auf einem Holz, wollte das nur mal ausprobieren! Auch altersbedingt! 😊 Kontern und Block, Unterschnitt, auch Schuss funktioniert hervorragend mit der Rückhand, ich spiele eher nah am Tisch. Stör-Effekt ist auch prima, eben typisch Langnoppe, für die Vorhand habe ich einen normalen Angriffsbelag!!! Das Soulspin-Holz Z Carbon Speed hat trotz dem Tempo was bereitgestellt wird auch noch eine super Kontrolle, hätte ich nicht gedacht! Zu den Griffschalen: Es ist einfach ein unschätzbarer Vorteil, wenn man sich genau auf seine Schlägerhand die Griffschalen aussuchen kann. Das Griffgefühl ist einfach großartig, wenn man die Möglichkeit hat, hier speziell für die Schlägerhand das anzupassen Die Qualität der Hölzer ist hervorragend! Herzlichen Dank auf diesem Wege auch nochmals an das Soulspinteam das mich auch am Telefon damals sehr gut beraten hat!

Z-Carbon Speed in Kombi mit harten klebrigen Belägen funktioniert sehr gut…Holztempo gleicht die undynamischeren Beläge recht gut aus…in meinem Fall, Butterfly 09c, Vor-und Rückhand. Lässt sich entgegen der Produktbeschreibung, sehr gut kontrollieren. Dickere Griffschale auf der Rückhand nach super Beratung vom Soulspin-Team….übrigens nochmals ein Lob für den Service…punktgenaue Lieferung des zweiten Z-Carbon , wie abgesprochen. Spiele seit vier Wochen diese Kombination und sehe bei einigen meiner Mitspieler schon ein wenig Furcht in den Augen ob des Spins vor allem aber ob des Drucks den man machen kann. Bin ein Tischnaher Spieler. Nebenbei ist das Griffgefühl auch nach sommerlich schwitzigen Partien sehr angenehm. Vielen Dank an Soulspin

Ich habe mir das Holz Z-Carbon Speed zugelegt. Die Möglichkeit, sich das Holz selbst zusammenstellen zu können,
ermöglicht ein tolles Fein-Tuning bei der Holz- und Griffauswahl, um eigene Bedürfnisse zu erfüllen.
Die Qualität der Hölzer ist hervorragend und sie liegen sehr gut in der Hand.
Der gesamte Service wie auch die Kommunikation mit Soulspin war außergewöhnlich gut. Das Z-Carbon Speed ist kein Holz für Anfänger.
Es erfordert schon Spielstärke und eine offensive Ausrichtung.
