Description

Roots 6 Basalt – Elastic offensive blade

The ROOTS 6 BASALT is a blade for offensive players who are looking for a table tennis blade with high basic speed, but which still has a soft and easily controllable ball impact. The Basalt fibres ensure high speed.  At the same time, they keep the table tennis blade elastic. That’s why Basalt blades are much less stiff than other blades with synthetic fabrics and are easier to control. All in all, the perfect combination of speed and feel.

Basalt fibre compared to Carbon

In contrast to Carbon fibres, Basalt blades remain soft and elastic. It does not become stiff, but has an elastic and controlled ball impact.
The fibre ensures that considerably less vibration passes into the hand. This gives you a very clear and direct feedback. The sweet spot is enlarged by the Basalt fibre. So the blade can be controlled very well and the balls can be placed safely.

The special handle design

The combination of handle shapes of different thicknesses provides the optimum feeling. The handle lies firmly in the hand and does not slip away. The combination of G3 and G4 results in a wonderfully rounded handle, which makes it easy to turn from forehand to backhand. There are no annoying edges to disturb fast turning.

1 review for Roots 6 Basalt

  1. Peter Heinz

    Dear SoulSpin Team,

I have decided to use SoulSpin’s Basalt blade in order to become a modern defender. In order not to make any mistakes with the many configuration options, I followed proven combinations and thus those recommended by SoulSpin.
I received a perfectly crafted blade according to my wishes. Due to my restraint in the configuration, the basalt wood is probably not a unique specimen, or at least it is unlikely to remain a unique specimen. However, it is undoubtedly a very individual blade and perfectly suited to my needs.
With the straight and somewhat stronger handle combination G4C with G3D it lies very well in my hand. In the chosen blade size L it feels very well balanced. I probably wouldn’t have needed the extra sealant I applied. The outer spruce veneer was already very smooth. Therefore, fraying during a rubber change should be almost impossible without this additional comfort. On the forehand I mounted a medium-hard pimple inner rubber; on the backhand a long pimple on a 1 mm soft sponge.
My first training impressions with this combination are very promising; be it when playing from half distance or close to the table. I am therefore full of optimism that I have found my blade. On the other hand, the excuses I like to make that it was due to the racket are now unfortunately no longer possible 😃

    Many greetings
    Peter Heinz
